Course Overview
The Cisco Nexus 1000V switch is an alternative networking option in VMware vSphere replacing vSwitch and the vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS). It provides a virtual switch inside the ESX host that can be managed using CLI administration on the switch for doing things such as VLAN tagging to enabling advanced switching features like port security and ACLs.
In this course, you will learn how to deploy the Cisco Nexus 1000V as a virtual switch in an existing VMware ESXi 5.X environment from the installation of the VSM, to the configuration, VEM, and migrating various virtual machine networks to the Nexus switch step-by-step.
